Egyptian medical companies to hold seminar in Addis

(EBC, 16 February 2016) - Egyptian medical industries will hold a medical industries seminar which showcases their capabilities in the industry in Addis Ababa, the country's embassy has disclosed.

Representatives of the largest and most reputable pharmaceutical companies in Egypt are expected to take part in the seminar to take place on 26th February at Raddison Blue Hotel, it was indicated.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, Commercial Counsellor with the Egyptian Embassy Waleed El Zomor said many Egyptian health companies have expressed interest to invest in Ethiopia and work jointly with their counterparts.

The health business between the two countries has been less than one per cent, he noted, and highlighted the prospects to boost the sector.

He said three Egyptian companies have finalized the necessary formalities to carry out a total of 100 million USD worth health investment in Ethiopia.

Companies engaged in pharmaceuticals, veterinary pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, cosmetics and medical tourism will come to Ethiopia and discuss various health issues with stakeholders, it was learnt.

The event is jointly organized by the Egyptian Commercial Office in Addis Ababa and Egyptian Export Council for Medical Industries.
